Isabel was born in Melbourne Australia. Her father is Australian as is her mother who is Swiss. Her family lived in Switzerland Melbourne Jabiru, a small town located in Northern Territory called Cairns and Cairns Australia. She attended school with Nina and children from different traditions, including First Nations. Isabel is currently living within Byron Bay NSW Australia. Isabel started acting at the age of 12. Her next step was to pursue a degree in acting in The Victorian College of Arts Queensland University of Technology and more recently studied her studies in the PEM Method Perdekamp Emotional Method. Agents discovered her in 2002. She had never tried out for a role before. The audition was for a role in Home and Away, 1988. The producers thought she was not the best fit for this part. However, they were so impressed, they made another character to play Tasha. After three years, Isabel was awarded the Logie Award as a new talent in television for her performance. Isabel moved her home to Los Angeles. The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, 2009 was her debut major role. In the time since then, Isabel has starred and been awarded in numerous US film and television productions, as well as Australian films. Isabel has recently appeared of Bosh & Rockit Ocean Boy a fast-becoming Australian iconic film, as well as the soon to be released thriller Lunacy. Isabel recently completed Sons of Summer, and she is in the process of preproduction on the role as Marie Curie for Radiant. The award-winning Annika Glac will be writing/directing the movie. Isabel has been involved with numerous environmental groups as well as an activist for animal rights. Isabel has served as a PatronAmbassador of Melbourne's Human Rights and Arts Film Festival (HRAFF) for 10 years from 2010 until 2020. Her reputation is based on her ecologically conscious passion and commitment to social justice Isabel was chosen as the brand's ambassador and spokesperson for a variety of fashion and cosmetics campaigns.

Being a passionate actress the actress began her professional career as a model, and as a minor character in film features.
